Briti says when I go to New York I can be anything I want to be. Making all my preparations for the big move is overwhelming some days. On those days Brit gives me the pep talk that I need to get my head back in the game. The other day she told me,"Tristen, in New York you can be anything you want to be. You can be classy!" She was dead serious too!
Then today as I was talking with her about some of my plans for the city and some of the things I wanted to write about she said something like this, "Tristen - why don't you write a colum or something about How to Loose a Guy in 10 Days. You're really good at all sorts of stuff like that" Ahh gee Brit....I'm glad someone's got some faith in my skills!
Ohh New York City....we all can't wait to see what you bring.

Hey...your Vegas is showing
It was time to get away....so off Sug' (the Sus) and I drove to Vegas. Briti and J are in their new house and it was time for me to claim my room. We actually didn't do a whole lot other than cook, shop, eat, and wait for J to get home from work. We swore to ourselves that we were going to eat healthy...but like I said - our Vegas started showing and we just couldn't help ourselves. We had no desire to come back home to reality, but you know someone's gotta bring home the bacon. The apple store was hardly surviving without me so home we drove. The countdown is on and Ro is going to be here before we know it. I was talking to him on this trip and asked him to kick his mamma's belly if he loved me. He totally socked it to her! Now that's true love!

G-Funk...the day you were born all my dreams came true!
Now let me tell you something...Gary Samuelian knows how to throw a fun Birth-DAY!!! After Briti and I spent our weekend in Santa Barbara we met up with the birthday boy Gary, Lindsey & baby, and Susi. We shoped till we dropped and the fun went on into the wee hours. Gary wanted to take his girls to L.A. and get us all fun treats in celebration of his birth!
Talk about fun! We all got the best Marc Jacobs carry bags, the cutest Helen F. necklace, the most yummy sweat pants ever, and we topped it off with a tasty meal at "The Ivy"
The fun never stops with that boy - Happy Birthday Baby! But the best present was yet to come as Susi and Gary were told the news of the little one growing inside Briti's belly. That was for sure the coolest part seeing their excitement and anticipation. Then we drove home for more partying. Ohh and did I mention that Lindsey...like usual took her drive home to the next level as she drove as passenger in the BMW with the top down. And I mean 'top down' in every sense of the phrase! That girl?!? I-yi-yi!
Then we came home to a fun cherry on top as we celebrated with a delicious Maggie Moo's cake from his Aunt and cousins that were in town. I'm pretty sure I know what he wished for...and I just want to say to Gary that don't you worry...all your dreams are about to come true!!!

Thelma & Louise...and a pea in the pod
If your going to be jealous of anything I do...then you should be jealous of the weekend I had! Briti, my BFF Butterfly, and I did what we always said we'd one day do. Well last weekend was the perfect time to do it. It started off with my forcing Briti to take a pregnancy test at about Midnight on our way to pick up some delicious Maggie Moo's for everyone. We went to the grocery store and got and asked where the tests were. It was hilarious because everyone assumed we were the happy couple expecting good news! Now this isn't the first time we've done this - but last time her husband Jason was with us.
As we were walking into the bathroom we were told over the loud speaker that they wanted to know the results too. Well in about 5 minutes time we saw a lovely two lines indicating that Briti was in fact with child! We were ecstatic and overwhelmed! I came out of the bathroom exclaiming, "It's a girl!" and we went to the front to asked the night employees if they agreed with my diagnosis. Britni was somewhat skeptical and just couldn't believe it. All the workers said that we were definitely prego and we left speechless!
Brit wanted to keep it a secret from everyone till at least she had a chance to tell J. So we had fun keeping out secret just between the two of us for a while. We then decided that the time was NOW to play a little Thelma and Louise. So on Sunday morning we borrowed Susi's convertible BMW, grabbed our scarfs, and drove where the wind would take us. It took us all the way to Santa Barbara.
I can hardly even explain how much stinking fun it was! We stopped whenever we wanted and did whatever we wanted. We found the cutest little bed and breakfast and became obsessed with the quaintness of the area. I told the front desk guy that we would be checking in under the name, "Mouse...Mickey Mouse" because we didn't want to be bothered by anyone during our short trip away. He thought I was crazy - until I told him little did he know that we were basically celebrities where we came from. Umm hadn't he heard of "Laguna Beach"??? - well I let him know that I in fact new a friend that new a friend that actually had one time seen L.C. across the street from her! He didn't mess with me after that. In fact he even let us take their tandem bike out way past their curfew!
We shopped and rode bikes and had to take some brakes to let the little one rest. My little Pearl (that's her name...and YES we are just sure it's going to be a girl!) is a little champ! Britni was a little more tired than usual but that didn't keep everything obnoxious hidden. When we would ride up and down the boardwalk on our tandem bike - she would think it was so funny to lift up my dress right as I was waving to each passerby. I would scream and we'd almost fall off the bike everytime...and she did it way too many times past funny! Then we rode in the skate park, but I don't think the little skater punks really welcomed us there as we bottomed out on each ramp.
Britni was really amazed at how much I truly wanted to reenact scenes from Thelma and Louise. When we were riding at full speed on the pier and people were moving out of our way as I yelled, "watch out - here come Thelma and Louise and we're going to jump!" she got a little nervous. Luckily we were able to slide to a stop before going off the edge.
We had a great time and we were sad to leave. However, we have planned to make this happen on a regular basis. We just have to make sure good 'ol Susi will let us drive that fun car - cause I have to believe the wind in our hair made all the difference in the world!

Bringing 50's Back!!!
Be-Bop-A-Lula...yes we brought it back and we brought it back with class and style (except when Summer B.A.'d all of us in the middle of our watching "American Graffiti")! We all spent a fun night filled with old school festivities. Micah cooked up a gourmet feast on the B-B-Q while Briti ruled the Shake Shack. Everyone backed their cars up for a front row seat at our make shift drive-in. It was fun and now I'm too tired to write anymore so just look at the pictures.
Oh - and if your really wanting a good laugh you'll have to check out Katie Hoffman's blog! In all of 60 seconds with Cora Greiners roller skates on I managed to fall twice!!! And I'm talking the kind of fall where I literally questioned if I broke my big bootie!!! If it wasn't for my lovely and almost weekly routine of "orange tanning" that gives my skin an all over golden cover up glow - you'd be able to see one heck of a black and blue rear end. (Or at least I'd be able to see it...)

Happy B-Day Briti!!!
So I thought it only appropriate to give a little shout out to my girl Briti...cause she is in fact turning the big 24 today! She wanted me to send her 24 things that she would love but apparently she hasn’t heard that I’ve been unemployed for the past 8 months. So instead....24 reasons I love her! (And I’m not going to pull a Jason and do a few repeats!!!)
1. Because she’s my best friend in the whole world. TB 4-ever!
2. Cause she let me talk her into dating Jason for the first few months!
3. Cause she lets me wear all her cute clothes...even if she hasn’t worn them yet.
4. Cause she always thinks my dance moves are seriously the best!
5. Cause she’s freaking gorgeous...and sometimes people think I’m her sister!!!
6. Cause she lets me assist her at hair school.
7. Cause she feels she has a special power when I’m around her! (but I don’t have your back when the big lezbo’s want to beat you up!!!)
8. Cause...”note to self - never wear a white mini-skirt”
9. Cause she let me make her kiss 21 boys on her 21st birthday.
10. Cause she got me in trouble by her mom the day before I went into the MTC for taking her to the “White House”
11. Cause she’s grosser than I ever DREAMED! (J calls it “demented”)
12. Because she sang a duet with me at the Colosseum in Italy and received a standing ovation!
13. Cause she wants to one day play the harp and I know she will. ( and i wanna play the accordion!)
14. Cause she sometimes tries to out-do my jokes and makes me laugh really really hard at her attempt!
15. Cause she will always do my hair for free and not be mad that I don’t leave a tip!
16. Cause we’ll grow old together and be like the old ladies you see at the mall that have too much makeup on and wear crazy colored big hats!
17. Cause if she gets rich first she’ll pay for some sweet best friend excursions for us to take!!! ( Right back at ya!)
18. Cause she tried to teach me how to kiss a boy...and demonstrated on her hand!
19. Cause she’d go to jail for me!
20. Because we can do nothing but watch t.v. and eat all day and I don’t feel lazy or fat around her. She just thinks it’s as fun as I do!!!
21. Cause she married the best person in the world and the 3 of us are a little happy family!!! I love my J!!!
22. Cause she’s married and when boys are checking her out I can point that out and she follows up with a, “But she’s single...want to go out with her?”...yeah thanks a lot Briti!
23. Cause when I wrote her my letter she knew I was sincere and teared up!
....and the best reason I love my Briti.....
24. Because she missed me as much as I missed her and is IRREPLACEABLE!!!!
Happy 24th Briti - Hope you have a fun day with Jason. Tell him to call me if he’s needing any ideas! I’ll see you two soon and am counting down the days!!!
